CLOSING DOWN SALE - ALL LITTLE RED PANDA PRODUCTS FOR SALE AT COST

Why Silicone?

Why do we choose silicone for our baby products, and why is it better for the environment than plastic?

For starters food grade silicone is non-toxic, meaning it's BPA, lead, latex, PVC and phthalate free. Unlike plastic, silicone does not leach any chemicals which contaminate the food they're touching. So we know it's safe for our little ones. It's also a highly durable material so it can withstand very low and very high temperatures without cracking, becoming brittle or deforming in any way. You only need to buy silicone products once, and then they will serve you for as long as you need them.

Silicone is mostly made from sand, which means it's also easier on the environment. When burned, silicone reverts back to its original, natural components (sand, water, silica and carbon dioxide) unlike plastic which release toxic chemicals into the atmosphere.

Can Silicone be recycled?

YES! To find out more about New Zealand's new silicone recycling programme click here.

Sounds good, what other qualities does silicone have?

Silicone is odourless, hypoallergenic and stain resistant, meaning it doesn't harbour harmful bacteria and is easy to clean.

Well there you have it, if you want a more eco-friendly, safer alternative to plastic, silicone is your go to for baby products!
